Brother PC-Connectable Label Maker with Auto Cutter (PT-2430PC) Review

Brother PC-Connectable Label Maker with Auto Cutter (PT-2430PC)

I got this product to replace my current Brother P-Touch Labeler, because I wanted something that I could create laminated labels with, but also be able to make them a bit snazzier than my current labeler allows. This product fits the bill, and then some!
With this label maker, you can hook it up to any PC, and print laminated labels. Let me make this clear though---you have to have a computer to hook the labeler up to, or it will not work. Hooking up the label maker is very easy, you simply use the USB cord that comes in the box and hook it up to the USB port on your computer. Once hooked up, and powered on, a built in software called "P-Touch Editor Lite" automatically comes up. It is very user friendly, and allows you to create your labels from your computer, and print them without having to install any additional software. The great thing about this, is that with this label maker you have access to a wide range of fonts, clip arts, and editing that you do not have on a regular label maker. But, the best feature of using a computer to generate your labels, is that you get to see what the labels are actually going to look like BEFORE you print them! At last no more wasted TZ tape!
Now, if you want to take your label making up another level you can install the additional software from the CD-ROM that comes with the labeler. Installing this software is totally optional, and not necessary, but just provides some additional features that the built in software does not have. This is where things got a little tricky for me, and why I would give this product 4.5 stars if I could. Installing the software was not as easy as I expected it to be. But I am going to tell you what I did wrong so you won't make the same mistakes that I did!
The CD-ROM contains two applications that need to be installed--the editing software, and a driver for this editing software. After the editing software is installed, the CD-ROM will attempt to install the driver. This is where I got stuck--the driver would not install. But after browsing through the numerous pamphlets/manuals that come with this product I was able to figure out what I was doing wrong--but I wasted at least a half an hour trying to figure this out. Here is what you need to know: 1. Make sure you do not have the label maker plugged in to your computer or turned on--wait until the installation software asks you to do so. 2. Make sure that the "mode switch" on the bottom of the machine is turned to the "E" position.
As long as you follow those two bits of advice the driver will install properly, and you can be on your way to creating all kinds of labels. The reason I would take off half a star is because I wasted to much time trying to figure out what I was doing wrong--- there should be a label on the CD-ROM envelope that says "WHEN INSTALLING SOFTWARE SWITCH MODE TO 'E' & DO NOT PLUG IN/TURN ON MACHINE UNTIL ASKED". That would have saved me so much time!
With that being said, once I got the software installed (and as I mentioned earlier, the software is optional....it is just more advanced than the software that is already built into the labeler), I was very impressed. You can really do a lot with it--there are even two modes, "Express" and "Professional". There are just as many, and maybe even more, fonts as Microsoft Word, as well as many different symbols/clip arts/ frames that you can insert. You can also install add-ins for Microsoft Word/Excel/Outlook that allow you to print your laminated labels from there. You can also insert photos that you have stored on your computer into the label! I especially love the ruler, which shows you precisely how long your label is going to be, so that you know how much tape you are using. There is also a neat feature called "Snap" which allows you to take screen clippings from your computer, and insert them into your label.
The label quality is excellent, and just what you would expect from Brother. As far as I can tell, this label maker accepts any type of labels that Brother makes (and they make A LOT of different kinds!)--even the 1" width labels. Fonts, and other symbols, etc, come out very clear. I inserted some photos and screen clippings to see how they would turn out, and they came out well---a bit grainy, but I was taking a large photo and fitting it onto a ½" label, so I did not expect that it would be the best quality. You can also have multiple lines of text, arrange the text direction, and do many other things with the installed software--you can even make barcodes! Other notable features--the product is actually more compact than I expected it to be from the picture, a clear window for viewing what type of tape that you have in the machine, accepts batteries AND has an AC adapter so you can plug it in ( a big plus!),is Energy Star rated, and seems to be made out of durable materials.
There is not much room for improvement with this labeler, but I would have a few minor suggestions for the manufacturer. First, I wish this product came with more than just one "sample" size TZ tape. It would be nice if there were more TZ tapes included and even possibly in various sizes or colors. Second, although this product is quite small, the portability of this product would be improved by adding a handle. Lastly---it would be nice if the labeler came with some type of pouch to store the label maker in, along with its AC adapter and USB Cord.
Otherwise though, great product for making quality, personalized, laminated labels! Definitely several steps up from what I had been using!

Great design, build, and style! And perfectly functional small bag for a netbook.
I bought a 10" netbook (the Samsung NC10-14GB, sweet little computer) and had a hard time finding an appropriate bag for it. In a regular computer bag, it would slide all around, and just leave wasted space. Besides, with a smaller computer, I wanted to have a smaller, sleeker bag for a more portable lifestyle.
The bags "made for" the 10" format (like this one) were just little neoprene covers with a handle. They didn't protect well, and looked like you're carrying a "tea party" munchkin briefcase!
I wanted to find a smaller, vertical-format bag for for my netbook--and this Built NY case exactly fit the bill.
The divider/organizer card inside the bag has a slot that I can *put the computer in,* which effectively hangs the computer in a stretchy neoprene pocket away from the bottom or sides of the bag. This is an absolutely ingenious system: simple and totally effective. It's like having a soft computer sleeve with several inches of rigid bumper around the edges.
I can put other small items in the organizer/divider, put the whole thing in the bag, and still have room for odds and ends in the bag itself. Not a lot of room, but I wanted a slimmed-down bag--so I guess I can't load it up with too much weight!
I'm really impressed with the design and build of the bag and divider. I've always looked a little askance at neoprene bags. Built NY won me over.
Here's the one problem (for which I do not subtract from my five-star review rating): For a man, it's just a little too girly to carry around as a shoulder bag! (I have the solid brown version, not even the polka dots!)
My sister got the Samsung, too. I think I'll give her this bag, and hope she loves it as much as I was ready to.

Sharp XE-A203 Thermal Printing High Contrast Cash Register Review

Sharp XE-A203 Thermal Printing High Contrast Cash Register
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
This is the first register i've owned. And it's a charm, i though the programming would be hard. But it is super easy with the included software. Use the software, trying to program and set up things like your logo for receipts will take a lot of time, using the register. Connect the included USB cable to the register and your pc and it becomes a breeze. Programming the tax, reciept logo, PLU (price look up) and Departments was fun.
No only was i up and running in no time, one click and all the days sales is downloaded directly into quickbooks. I don't need a printout from the register. I get full data on all the days sales, from the time they were made, the clerk, how much each department sold, etc etc. You can also download this information to a SD card to read and print from another pc. So far everything is running smooth, I don't have any complaints. Even giving a % discount works correctly, read the manual it will help you understand how to get that done.
This register is perfect for small business such as retail stores. You can even program this register with an ID just in case you have more than one register in your store.
I really enjoy the use of the sharp xe - 203, as i stated in the beginning, this is my first register, so i do have a lack of experience with other register. I'm a pc guy so i know good tech products when i see them, but i know them better once i use them. I recommended this for any and all small business owners who need a cash register. And the price is also another good selling point.
All in all this is a good cash register, easy to program.

Iomega Home Media 1 TB Network Attached Storage 34337 Review

Iomega Home Media 1 TB Network Attached Storage 34337
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I've been using the 1TB media drive for about a month and a half now and have had a very positive experience. I set it up on an XP machine and had little problem connecting to it from my Vista laptop and XP netbook without installing any software. The only feature I haven't used is the USB print server (my printer is located in my office and the hard drive is connected in the living room next to the router and haven't wanted to move either one so they could be physically connected).
My PS3 automatically found the device on the network, and I use the PS3 to watch TV shows stored on the hard drive on my HDTV. This works great. I can't edit files using the PS3, but I can play AVI and MP3 files (I sometimes play music through my stereo system this way as well as TV shows). Formats like .mkv files won't play this way, but that's a function of the PS3 rather than a limitation of the hard drive.
I'm not using the backup software that comes with it; I manually load files to the device from any of my computers. I store my business files, writing, music, etc. on the drive and thus can, for instance, sit outside with my netbook while still accessing all my files (which is handy since the netbook has very little local storage). All my files are in one place and it doesn't matter which computer I'm using.
Uploading files is not much, if any, faster than a USB 2.0 drive in my experience, but download speeds seem very snappy and even very high resolution video files play back over the network with no delay.
For me, this HD solved a lot of problems. I highly recommend it if you have multiple PCs in your house and a collection of media or data files that you want to share, especially if you have a supported device like a PS3 connected to your TV. If you only have one PC and don't want to play media on your TV, you're better off with a 1 TB USB drive since that will be cheaper.Pros
* Decent transfer performance over my network (via both wired and wireless connections)
* Can connect to it via PS3 or Xbox 360 to view/listen to media files
* Pretty painless setup
* Takes up very little space
* Works exactly as advertised and I'm in no danger of filling up the huge 1 TB drive
Cons
* Drive is a little noisy
* Whether it's a factor of my router or the net drive, sometimes my netbook (wireless) and PS3 (wired) lose connection temporarily. I think this is something happening on my network rather than the drive though.
* If I rename a file on the drive using my PC while a file is playing back on my PS3, there is a hiccup on playback: I lose sound for a second, then sound resumes but video playback lags for a few seconds before resuming. Audio and video remain synced when this happens, though.

EMACHINE 15.6IN 2GB/160 NOTEBOOK Review

EMACHINE 15.6IN 2GB/160 NOTEBOOK
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Nice inexpensive laptop. I've only had it for a few days, so my comments are on functionality, not on quality or durability.
First, annoyances.
It has a webcam, but doesn't have a built-in microphone. I guess, it's a way to shave a few pennies off the cost, but quite annoying.
It has a DVD drive, but without Lightscribe. Obviously, less common feature than microphone - but I tried to label my system backup disks, and couldn't do it.
It has a multi-card reader. I had no problems with SD card and Memory Stick, but when I tried to put a Memory Stick Pro duo (which is shorter that regular MS) - it got stuck inside. To short to "click". Couldn't get it out without tweezers.
And, of course, there are no Windows disks. So, if I decide to re-partition the drive - I don't know if I can still install Windows.
Last among little annoyances - only two USB ports. Given that one is always taken by a mouse (I hate touchpads) - only one is left. Oh well - there is always a USB router.
Keyboard layout takes a little getting used to - there is a numeric pad and Ins, Del keys are duplicated - but no Home, End, PgUp or PgDn. Again, hard to find a word other than weird.
Once you get used to all these idiosyncrasies, it's actually a very nice machine. I like the keyboard responsiveness, webcam video is great quality, I haven't seen a 15.6" screen under $400, and it's not heavy.
OS came with a bunch of trial versions (Norton, Office, games); so if you are like me, you spend the first evening uninstalling all the junk. But, I guess, that's how manufacturers keep Windows price low (if not $0) - so I don't mind.
My wife said that it "looks cheap"; but (a) I have no idea what it means in relation to a laptop, and (b) it *is* cheap.

eMachines ER1402-05 Desktop (Black) Review

eMachines ER1402-05 Desktop (Black)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Update: After reading other reviews below and trying all the steps mentioned, I am still unable to achieve watchable frame rates in Hulu under Chrome, IE or Hulu Desktop. I have Flash 10.1, July 2010 Nvidia drivers, Aero off, all unneeded programs uninstalled, and haven't installed any software on this box but xbmc. Full screen Hulu video (I've been using Burn Notice to test) is unwatchable. Some other reviewers claim it's fine, though, so maybe your experience will be better than mine. That said, I am still very happy with this box as I never intended to watch flash on it anyway.
Update Sept 1: I've bumped this up to five stars. I broke down and picked up the AverTv Volar USB tuner, and this box is capable of recording and playing back 1080i content via clearQAM in WMC.
First of all, the item definitely does not weigh anywhere near 9lbs. I think that was a mistake in the original press release.
I've had this for two days and so far it's been what I expected for my first nettop. The bloatware wasn't too bad and setup was fast and easy. Keep in mind the wireless mouse needs a USB receiver (included) so you're losing one of those USB ports right off the bat. The hdmi port is also in a pretty bad spot.
I am using this to stream up to 720p (so far) over wireless g/n and xbmc is working great under the original windows install. Boxee, however, dropped frames occasionally in 720p / matroska. 720p was also fine in Windows Media Center, so part of the blame does lie in boxee's internal codec.
If you're looking to stream Hulu on this box, I wouldn't recommend it. I tried with both older versions of Flash and the latest version, and made various tweaks (increased frame buffer in BIOS, aero on/off, etc), and it was not really watchable in any browser I tried. I don't really use Hulu or flash, though, it was just a test; others more knowledgeable may get it to work.
I am using the box with a 42" samsung and a surround sound setup via the optical audio. So far it's fulfilling the needs I had for it, and it runs quiet and fairly cool. Seems like a decent box for the price, and it replaced a hulking old HTPC that was heating up my living room for no good reason. I've given up on tuner cards, but I bet you could get a USB tuner working on this without much trouble.

i purchased a macbook and wanted to get a semi-protective sleeve for it. the product itself is well-made. however, it does not fit the 13" macbook very well which causes the laptop to shift around inside the case.
with that said, i would not recommend this product for the 13" macbook as it is a better fit for owners of 14" and 15" laptops.

The laptop sleeve is a nice way to store my laptop and cords when I am not using it, but for major travel not really the best option. The pockets are easy to slip things into, but then make the case bumpy and not really the right thing for pulling your laptop out of your bag. For me the sleeve got stuck on the other things in my bag, but I bet it I traveled with a little less stuff it might have been better.
I must say that I love the material, it stretches to fit everything then after you take things out it does go back to its original shape. I like the material so much that I have purchased a camera case too.

Canon PIXMA MP450 All-In-One Photo Printer Review

Canon PIXMA MP450 All-In-One Photo Printer
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
This is not my first Canon, I used them for years and they seem indestructible. I get this MP 450 from Amazon, before it get on the market, and just love it. It is a beautiful little thing, sleek and shiny in black and silver, white a nice adjustable LCD in full colour.
This multifunction is quite small (nice feature if you don't want to clutter your work space) and it does everything his big sister do (I had the huge mp 780 which I was not so found of). The MP 450 works nicely, smoothly and even faster. Scans and copies are sharp and clear, printing is crisp, it's a real pleasure to use.

Often one says it's better to have a cartridge for each colour, I am not so sure: when one is empty, the others follow shortly after. I love having just 2 cartridges to watch and manage (dealing with 4 or 5, you're always running at the shop unless you store a lot). By the way it is really a two (2) cartridges printer (event though I read otherwise on some websites. Furthermore, every time you change one of these, you get a new head, (that means sharp printing). But, even with that, the ink cost is quite low, a very important feature for me as I print a lot of text. It even "duplex print, so you use both side of paper. Furthermore, included are two high capacity cartridges , but I didn't compared theses the regular ones, or found any info on theses, but this is a nice little plus.
Photo and colour printing are astounding, you can modify the setting to your own tastes. The software bundle is full of nice surprises, like Arcsoft photo suite, which reassemble a little to Photoshop but is far much easier to use) , and two scanner utilities.
So I am very glad to have wait for the MP 450. And hope you'll enjoy it as much as I do. Good luck!

The EZVUE8V is the most miserable piece of junk I have ever used. Every day it starts with "battery low" and requires two more. It will not schronize with my computer or any other. Instructions are useless and I will most certainly return it. I have been using hand held organizers for almost 20 years but not any that will work with the computer. This one doesn't work either Royal EZVUE8V Personal Digital Assistant

HP Officejet 7500A Wide Format e-All-in-One E910a (C9309A#B1H) Review

HP Officejet 7500A Wide Format e-All-in-One E910a (C9309A#B1H)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
This all-in-one HP Officejet performs the four functions of printing, faxing, scanning and copying. It does each as good or better than the standalone version of each of these activities. On the printing side, the quality of the printed documents and pictures also rivals that of third-party publishers, especially those on photographic paper. The prints, which can be borderless, have sharp, vivid and nicely saturated colors.
The nine-step installation process took about 45 minutes. All four functions were then up and running. Connectivity can be wired or wireless Ethernet, or through a USB connection to a PC. I connected the HP Officejet 7500A through a wireless wifi connection on my home office network. The unit saw the name of my network on its LCD display, and then prompted me for the network password, which is entered into the display unit.
I printed two "draft" documents, one in black and white, and one in color. The 22-page black-and-white Word document printed in 56 seconds. The 16-page web document of colored product pages from amazon.com, took 68 seconds. The quality of the draft documents is very good and perfectly fine for everyday use.

Since this is a wide-format printer, I printed a borderless 13 by 19 photograph from Photoshop Elements. The quality of the printed image is outstanding. It is as good or better than an emulsion-based print. I also printed the same image on a borderless 8 ½ by 11 to test for color consistency between various sizes of photographic paper. Both images were beautiful and consistent.
There are a couple of nice enhanced features of this all-in-one unit. The first is the auto document feeder, which feeds the FAX, copying and scanning functions. I stacked a 40-page document into it, and created a PDF file of the document in a few minutes.
The other enhanced feature is ePrint, which allows printing to the unit from anywhere on the Internet. During the setup process, an email address is assigned to the printer. You can print most standard document and image types by attaching then to its email address, and then sending it. The HP instructions say that "a print job might be delayed up to 5 minutes" before it prints. My delay time was eight seconds. This is a neat feature, which also includes a level of security that allows for limiting inbound email-based print jobs to a list of email addresses that you can create and manage online.
The HP Officejet 7500A is solidly built. It is replacing a 12-year-old Canon copier, an 11-year-old HP printer and a 5-year-old HP scanner. The quality of this HP Officejet 7500A is simply better than the "parts," so it is time to replace these older units. I think this HP unit will also last ten or more years as well.

LensPEN Lens Cleaning System Review

LensPEN Lens Cleaning System
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I have tried so many different cleaning tools, and I always stuck with the basic lens tissues and cleaners. But with today's lenses, they didn't do the job (speed and ease) I was looking for.
The guy at my local (100 year old) camera shop recommended I try one of these.
I have removed all other cleaning items out of my bag except for one "cloth" that I use to clean the outside of my camera and this pen.
Always start with the "brush" to brush away any grit or sand that could possibly scratch the lens. Then lightly, use the other side (felt) to clean away smudges and other marks. It's quick, easy and unbelievably effective!
I use it on my lenses, the LCD of my SLR and even my cell phone.
The first one lasted me a year. I am on my second and recommend it everywhere I go.

JVC XL-SV22BK Karaoke CD Player (Includes 18 CD+G Karaoke Discs and a Microphone) Review

JVC XL-SV22BK Karaoke CD Player (Includes 18 CD+G Karaoke Discs and a Microphone)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
This is a really nice machine and the selection of discs that came with it IN the package (in its own little holder) is a great assortment of all kinds of music. I had been looking for quite some time, and this was by far the best value I found. One thing some people may not understand however is that this is a component and you need to have an amp, or TV with AV inputs. The little machines with internal amps dont even compare with this one.

JVC's XL-SV22BK is something like the ultimate karaoke player, offering compatibility with specialty formats and technologies that standard DVD players would readily eschew.
Video features NTSC/PAL compatibility means you can sing along to discs from all over the world. The player offers VCD version 2.0 playback control, video intro scan, multipicture onscreen display, slow search (via remote), and bookmark with onscreen book digest.
JVC has done an interesting thing here in making this player compatible with CD graphics (CD+G), which some karaoke discs use and many standard CDs released in the late 1980s also used--only back then, there was no way to see them! (Chris Isaak's 1985 debut, Silvertone, is an example of a pop disc bearing CD+G content.)
Audio features Karaoke-specific effects like vocal masking and vocal replace, digital echo (with level control), and three surround modes (Dance Club/Hall/Stadium) make you sound like the professional you wish you were.
Connections The player includes two microphone jacks, so you and your friends can tackle all those great duets you used to have to go to a bar to sing.
Other features The DVG-9000N is karaoke-ready with a front-panel .25-inch microphone input--just plug in and sing along with your favorite CDs or dedicated karaoke CDs and DVDs. The unit is compatible with DVD, VCD, SVCD, CD, and MP3-CD-R/CD-RW.
Other features include Cinema Shuttle, nine-step programming, one-track/all-track repeat, 10-key direct track access, and a remote control.

Franklin LM6000b Speaking Language Master Review

Franklin LM6000b Speaking Language Master
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Pros:
Acceptable dictionary service. (Quick, short definitions to a large number of everyday words)
Useful pronunciation service.
Cons:
Perceptible delay in appearance of definition after word has been typed in(though you get used to it)
SLOW word correction (if you type in a word/spelling not in the dictionary, the wait is excruciating while it comes up with alternatives. To be fair, this search can be canceled promptly if you typed in a wrong word by mistake)
Not quite portable. Dictionary could have been more comprehensive, used AAA batteries. Top heavy (literally), unwieldy in the hand due to 4 AAs.
Would have preferred more comprehensive definitions and lesser games. More comprehensive meaning better definitions and more etymologies. I would not agree with the term "Language Master" because of the perceived deficiencies in the number of words and length of definitions.
I would NOT call it a good reference either.
Compared to the the excellent free service at www.m-w.com and my own idea of a portable dictionary.
Keys go clackety clack - could have used softer keys.
I would not recommend this buy.
P.S.
Why don't we have more competition in the electronic dictionary sector?

Canon PIXMA MX330 Inkjet All-In-One Printer Review

Canon PIXMA MX330 Inkjet All-In-One Printer
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
This review is actually on the Canon MX320. It is the MX330's little brother. Both printers are identical except the MX320 does not have the color lcd screen, it has a 2-line dot matrix screen. Since I do all of my editing on my computer, and can't see much on the little screen anyway, I chose to save about $40. Either printer offers great value in my humble opinion.
PROS:
1. Photo quality equal to my Canon MX830. I don't know why or how but the prints look the same. Even better if you use Canon's "VIVID" setting in the Easy Photo Print software under paper selector.
2. The scanner reproduces colors and details that are very close to original and you have the option to touch up photos after scanning. Using the ADF you can copy legal size papers.
3. The fax options are not perfect but they work. This is the first all-in-one that I've owned that I can actually leave the fax running in the back round without it interfering with phone calls on the same line. Using the TEL Preferred setting the fax will start automatically if you answer the phone and it is a fax. This even works from a remote phone by dialing 25 if you hear the fax noise when you answer. Up to 50 (20 pages of documents) faxes will be stored in memory if you run out of paper or ink.
4. My favorite option on this printer is the fact that you can choose which cartridge to print from. This will save a lot of the more expensive color ink, especially from advertisements faxed to you. Simply follow these steps to print from black only:
a. Click on the MY PRINTER icon the software installed on your desktop
b. Click on the PRINTER SETTINGS tab
c. Click on the MAINTENANCE tab
d. Click on the INK CARTRIDGE SETTINGS tab
e. Choose from using BLACK ONLY cartridge, COLOR ONLY cartridge, or BOTH cartridges
The black only setting only works with plain paper and envelopes so photos will still print in color. Plus it takes only seconds to change settings if you need color in your text documents. This setting works great if you have teenagers that print everything they see.
5. You can fax straight from your computer without first printing the fax. Just click on PRINT and choose Canon MX330 Fax as your printer. The fax works just like you ran it through the printer, including printing a receipt if you have set this up on the printer.
6. At about $.05 per black and white page printed, using the XL ink cartridges, and the ability to print photos that will last up to 300 years I feel the print costs are reasonable.
7. I bought the MX320 after trying the Epson NX300. There is no comparison between the 2 printers. The Canon exceeded my expectations in every category. At $69 the MX320 (MX330) is an all-in-one printer that works perfectly for a small home business on a tight budget.
CONS:
1. The lcd screen on the MX320 is hard to read sometimes because there is no backlight. Luckily you only have to use it to set up the printer and fax one time.
2. There is only 1 paper tray.
CONCLUSION:
Every printer requires a compromise in some area. Users of the HP printers I was interested in are reporting problems with Windows Vista, which I confirmed on HP's own site. The Epson model I tried was noisy, slow, and draft text was barely readable. Not to mention I went through 2 Epson's because of print head clogging problems. Brother and Kodak printers are unknown entities to me, although I bought one of the first Kodak printers when they came out and returned it the same day.
I have had good luck with other Canon printers and I like their print quality. The MX320/330 seem to be following in the Canon tradition of good quality printers. Unlike many others, I chose a 2 cartridge print system on purpose. My Canon MX830 was an excellent printer but if you change inks one at a time to save ink it seems like you are changing inks 2 times a week. For the money I don't think you can beat the MX320/330 for an all-in-one printer with a G3 fax. If fax capabilities are not needed I would buy the Canon MP480 or MP620 as these are both excellent all-in-ones without the fax at reasonable prices.

SanDisk Sansa m230 512 MB MP3 Player (Blue) Review

SanDisk Sansa m230 512 MB MP3 Player (Blue)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Alright, so mp3 players, yeah there's so many to choose from, it gets really annoyin, especially when all of your trendy friends are telling you to get an ipod. Don't get me wrong, ipods are great, i have one in fact, and i love it. But i rollerblade (not recreational, like the kind where you go to skateparks and grind handrails and various other things). So the the ipod's size makes it more prone to be broken, which is why I love this thing. I'm going to skip all the candy coating and get straight to the tootsie roll filling:
pros:
-Most other mp3 players are a little bit thinner, but the sansa has a flat control panel and the back is round to fit in your hand, i know, i know, you're going to put it in your pocket, well just put the interface on the inside of the pocket and none of the buttons have a chance of breaking, or the screen.
-The sansa has an extremely long battery life for one little AAA, around 20 hours, which is awesome since i hate buying batteries, but that's not a problem because i have rechargable AAA, but it's gets extremely aggrivating having to recharge batteries everytime you go out.
- The buttons are perfect, they're big, they're bold, what more do you want, and i noticed most mp3 players put these tiny little pin size buttons on their players, what's the point of that.
-The menu is really straightforward and simple. You just press the menu button on top of the player, and then use the 4 buttons (play/pause, previous track, next track, and stop) as the directional buttons on the menu.
-I used to have the older version of the sandisk mp3 players (256mb) and it was never loud enough, like i would be on the bus or in a busy area and not even be able to hear my music! Thankfully they enabled it to become louder and have a better sound quality.
-It's very inexpensive, i payed 40$ for mine from a seller on amazon. And that's about how much it goes for retail everywhere else.
Cons:
-The only problem i have is that the earbuds that they come with aren't the best in the world, but i still use them, they're the only earbuds i have ever found that have fit my ears without a 2 billion dollar price tag. Or i would get new ones.
-The fm tuner that comes with this is junk, i get a good signal every once in a while, but it really shouldn't be used as a marketing gimmick, considering most flash mp3 players have one now.
Ok, well thanks for reading my review of the sandisk sansa 512mb. I forgot to mention that it has a decent voice recorder for notes and such, but i always have mine filled to the the rim with music, so i've never really had the oppurtunity to really try it out.
