(More customer reviews)T61 owners may find their batteries failing very suddenly; mine did after only 50 recharge cycles. Lenovo did a recall (see [...]), but no Lenovo service rep had ever heard of it and, even though the battery lot number (FRU) matched those subject to recall, Lenovo wouldn't do anything for me.
So, an hour wasted on 2 calls with 4 Lenovo reps, it was off to Amazon. This battery fits fine, works as expected, costs 1/3 of the Lenovo alternative. The only problem was with a new ThinkVantage software update that kept reminding me that the battery wasn't a genuine Lenovo product. Just get rid of the ThinkVantage power management application, let Windows handle it, and you'll be fine.
