Great versatile screen for old fashioned home movies or those hobby oriented folks who want to remember the olden days of projection. We're using it for our 8mm feature film collection. Like the settings for wide screen and tilt feature for odd room angles. Packaging good and delivery quick from supplier.

Moshi iPouch Case for iPod Classic, Touch, & iPhone (Zen Black) Review

Moshi iPouch Case for iPod Classic, Touch, and iPhone (Zen Black)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Note: Long Review
Since purchasing my iPhone 3G and then 3Gs (when my wife inherited the 3G), my iPhone has remained nestled safely in an Otterbox Defender case. Such protection was required I thought to myself, for I am not easy on phones.
The funny thing is, when you have an expensive phone that you know will be very expensive to replace if it was destroyed by your own carelessness, you tend to be more cognoscente of what you do with it, and how you handle it.
Needless to say, the great iPhone dropage never occurred. Soon the bulk of the Otterbox made me yearn for something slimmer.
The first stop along the way was with the Incase Slider. A great case, nice minimal hard shell protection. Requires a screen protector. As an owner of two cats, there are zero areas in my home that are free from some sort of particulate. Needless to say, I could never achieve perfection while applying the screen protector, and finally came to the realization that I just didn't want one. With the Otterbox the protector was built in, and it had its own set of issues.
Obviously this posed a problem for me. I like to keep the phone in either a coat pocket, or in my jeans. The thought of having that smooth glass screen exposed was enough to make me squirm continuously.
Enter the Moshi iPouch. This microfiber is as soft as you would expect it to be. Inside the pouch is Moshi's special flavor of microfiber that works great on getting finger oil off the screen. The outside works equally as well.
What I really like is that I have the comfort of knowing that my phone is protected from miscellaneous pocket dangers. The drawstring closure on the top is functional but I wouldn't put it to any rigorous tests. It's a shame they didn't include something that would ensure that it stays shut when cinched up tight.
My INCASE slider fits in the pouch just barely. Sliding in and out takes a little more effort when the phone has a case on it. BUT...
I took off my incase slider to test it with the iphone's bare nakedness and it slid in smooth and easy. I am going to keep it this way over the weekend and see how it goes.
I feel a lot more confident that the Moshi iPouch will protect my screen better than any other screen protector. After all people, all a screen protector is is a piece of plastic. The iPouch at least has the bonus of thickness in its advantage.
Disadvantages: Your phone is in a pouch, if you are so busy that the extra 5 seconds necessary to take the phone out will annoy you, this is not the product for you.
Comes in a lot of lovely colors. I went for black, might get my wife a pink one. Hope this review helped.

Fisher Price Star Station Entertainment System Review

Although the idea is fun the actual toy lacks a good visual image display of your toddler. We took ours back because the clarity is pretty poor even with the right lighting. If you have a video camera and a cd player save your money and plug the video camera into the tv, turn it on and let your toddler watch themselves dance and sing to any cd you put in. Buy them a pretend microphone and you are all set.

The Star Station lets kids turn any television into an instant hit show by putting the power of performance right into their hands. Using Plug 'N Play technology, this hardware unit plugs right into the TV. Kids can access the music library to choose from over 75 Kidz Bop songs -- songs sung by kids, for kids. (Kidz Bop is the most popular and recognized music product in the US for kids aged 4-11.) There are four songs built into the hardware unit and there is a library of nine additional ROM packs, each containing eight songs. The Additional ROMs make it easy for kids to quickly and easily change the music and the theme of their show.
A wireless microphone puts no limits on the action and lets kids choose from and control five different camera lenses: Regular, Waves, Kaleidoscope, Red Kaleidoscope and Triple Vision. And from a button on the mic, little performers can change and rotate the lenses for amazing on-screen effects. Requires three "AAA" and six "C" batteries (not included).

Palm Treo 700p / 700w / 700wx JAVOScreen Anti Glare Screen Protector
Average Reviews:

When the display is on these look great. However, they are finicky to put on cleanly. I was very, very careful and still ended up with 3 - 4 bubbles caused by *tiny* dust specks that attached themselves to the back of the protector as I pulled it off its protective backing.
Each buble is 3 - 4 mm across even though the dust spec is infitessimal.
They're really only visible when the Treo is off, but I have a perfectionist streak in me, so they make me a little nuts.
I really was careful: I cleaned the Treo, washed my hands, and went to the least dusty room in my house (the kitchen). I used canned air to blow off every bit of dust from my hands and the device. I waited for the dust to settle after the blowing. I still got the spots!!!
The instructions tell you to only peel the protective backing 1/2 way off before beginning to align it with the screen. They also tell you to do the operation in a dust-free environment. (Great, if you happen to have a clean-room handy!) DO NOT IGNORE THAT ADVICE!
If you have even a slight perfectionist streak in you then buy 2 so you can get the second one right!

Palm Treo 650 JAVOScreen Anti Glare Screen Protector (3-Pack) Review

Palm Treo 650 JAVOScreen Anti Glare Screen Protector (3-Pack)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
These JavoScreen Treo 650 protectors are really very different from anything you've normally seen. Typically, 95% of the screen protectors are that very thin material that you stick on the screen, hope against hope that you don't have bubbles, but you almost always do. When the screen is off, you see the bubbles, thankfully when the screen is on, the bubbles are pretty invisible..... BUT these JavoScreen protectors are a completely different animal. They are thick, and tough, and relatively firm. And because of those properties, they go on with NO bubbles, and they are easily moveable (adjustable) should you not get it on perfectly the first time. Further, they come with a little squeegee thingy to make sure its on there good. This is the state of the art for screen protectors. And this all becomes an even bigger issue for men, because of whiskers, over time the screen will get dulled and scratched. Because of the thickness and quality of these, scratches to the screen are no longer an issue.

eMachines eME527-2537 15.6-Inch Laptop (Black) Review

eMachines eME527-2537 15.6-Inch Laptop (Black)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I bought this laptop purely out of the compelling nature of the Amazon Lightning Deal price of $279 plus the specifications of the unit (since then it seems they've made the deal price the standard one, for now). I own a computer service business, so I know exactly how to research laptops for potential purchase down to the component level, and here's why I decided to make the buy:
* CPU: It might be a cheap Celeron, but it has a 1MB cache and 64-bit capability, and is based on the Core 2 processor; DEFINITELY far more powerful than any netbook, and in my tests it plays 720p high-definition H.264 video clips without a single hitch. The lower cache is also somewhat mitigated by the dual-channel DDR3 memory.
* RAM: 2GB of dual-channel DDR3. Enough said. It's the latest and greatest kind of memory, and there's enough to get most typical things done. You could even run Photoshop if you wanted, and it'd be fine.
* Hard drive: 160GB SATA...pretty small by today's standards, but it's way more than most people will use, including myself since I have a desktop for all the big stuff.
* DVD-RW drive: YES, IT BURNS DVDs. Very compelling, particularly since netbooks' main missing feature is an optical drive.
* 15.6" widescreen: you can easily buy a laptop for $300 more and get a smaller screen. The image is crisp and I absolutely can't complain. The resolution is really good, also. Plenty of video real estate to get things done.
* Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit: 64-bit! Not Starter Edition! Not Vista! What more could you ask for? (Also, Linux works great on it; I checked!)
* This thing isn't a 17" laptop, yet it has a numeric keypad! Not a full one, but just the fact that it has the standard 0-9 and Enter matrix in the proper place is amazing, and awfully handy for keeping those pesky financial records!
Some people will not like the lack of a webcam, but the most annoying compromise is the sound. While you can easily connect a set of speakers and get wonderful sound, the built-in speaker is mono (there is only one speaker), very quiet, and has a very poor response range. It's sufficient for hearing sounds such as a mail notification (if ambient noise in the room is low), but it's insufficient for almost everything else, including listening to music. Honestly, most people could care less about the missing cam and pitiful speaker, especially at this price point. It's powerful, it gets the job done and does so at great speed, and the feature list is absolutely shocking for a $279 unit. If I was evaluating this at its "normal" $399 price, I would advise coughing up an extra $100 and buying a dual-core unit with 4GB and a 320GB hard drive instead, but the $120 off makes this an absolutely unbeatable offer. In fact, I've already helped three other people purchase one since mine was delivered and I evaluated it first-hand.
If you get this at a good price, you absolutely won't be sorry. Just buy it!

Lexmark Prestige Pro805 Small Office Wireless Multifunction Inkjet Printer with Web-enabled Touchscreen Review

Lexmark Prestige Pro805 Small Office Wireless Multifunction Inkjet Printer with Web-enabled Touchscreen
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Summary: Two great features make this printer worth considering: a penny per page (black ink cost) and ease of use powered by a touchscreen and one button "smartsolutions." Unfortunately, the implementation of these features involves a lot of setup complication, both for smartsolutions and the delicate printhead/cartridge system. Most people will be better off waiting a year or two until the smartsolution ecosystem further evolves and kinks are worked out of the printhead/cartridge mechanism in some future model.
But if you need a printer before then with competitive printing/copying/scanning quality and speed, and you find these extra features attractive, you'll likely be pleased with the Pro805 - once you get past the 2-6 hours setup hassle. Though I'm annoyed at the 5 hours I spent on setup, we like the end result and will stick with the Pro805 for many years.
Details (long):
Usage: This unit is used at home with Wifi, my wife's iMac (10.4), and my Windows XP desktop and netbook. I purchased this all-in-one primarily for my wife, a part-time writer. This replaced a piece-of-junk printer that she used for drafts (which required that she email me final copies or anything long to print at my office on a laser printer).
The penny per page black ink cost is the main selling point - as a writer, my wife prints out frequent black and white drafts. She doesn't want the bulk of a laser printer and she does have an occasional need for color, copying, and scanning. Ease of use also matters, so competent paper handling and the potential of smartsolutions is attractive. It was a birthday gift - so as part of the gift I set it up, including setting up one button smartsolutions appropriate for my wife. But I thought this printer would also be nice for me, as I use Evernote and liked the idea of being able to easily scan in documents and have them show up in my Evernote or Gmail accounts. Printing at home over WiFi is also an added convenience.
Printing Quality - (Note: Most of our usage/testing is Black & White) - The printing quality on draft mode is reasonable. On highest quality mode it is very crisp - you have to look very closely to distinguish from a laser printer. We noticed some stray dots and a little streaking at first but when we selected "clean printhead" from the menu, these issued were resolved. Overall we are very pleased, though we hope we don't have to clean the printhead too often, as ink gets depleted with each cleaning.
Printing Speed - The claimed 33 page per minute printing speed is accurate using draft mode, after the first page is printed. When trying to print after many minutes of inactivity, there is a long period where the printer wakes up and gets ready to print the first page. Given these constraints, a faster way to use the printer is to print a many documents in a row. It prints less than 10 pages per minute in high quality mode, but my wife finds that acceptable.
Ease of Use - WiFi printing works flawlessly - any computer (with the Pro805 driver installed) that is connected to the router (either WiFi or Ethernet) can print. The drivers for both the Mac and Windows are easy to use and offer a vast array of options, including the ability to set up "profiles" (i.e. one profile for quick draft black/white, another for final drafts, another for photos, etc.). The Windows drivers appear to offer a wider array of printing options. The other functions of this all-in-one are also easy to use, whether you use customized one-button smartsolutions, navigate the touch screen, or use the included software on your computer. No paper jams so far and the automatic document feed worked fine in a couple of test cases.
Copying - Have not tested extensively, but Black/White is excellent, color seems pretty good.
Scanning/OCR - The quality of Black/White scanning is excellent. A 15 page scan using the automatic document feeder took just over 2 minutes. The included Abbyy FineReader 6.0 OCR (Optical Character Recognition) software for Windows systems has been 100% accurate so far in converting typed or printed text into text, RTF, or searchable PDF files. To use OCR, you must have your computer turned on and connected to the same WiFi network. Macintosh OCR software is not included, requiring an extra purchase for Mac-only networks that want OCR. Color scanning works, but I don't feel qualified to comment on quality. Scans can be initiated from a computer, from the printer "scan" button, or from a smartsolution. As of March, 2010, the types of scans you can do from a smartsolution are somewhat limited, so you currently need to use the "scan" button or a computer to have access to all possible scanning options.
Email - Documents can be scanned and then emailed, with or without smartsolutions. This is a great feature. I found out the hard way that the printer hangs when attempting to send an attachment that exceeds the limit of the ISP. Comcast is the ISP set up with our Pro805, so the attachment limit is 10MB. A 600 DPI 8.5x11 JPG exceeds this limit (13MB?). And in many instances you will not know if your multi-page PDF file will exceed the limit and hang the printer. The only way to restart the printer after it hangs is to pull out the plug and put it back in.
Smartsolutions - Once set up, these one-button solutions make the printer really easy to use - even a pleasure to use. My favorite smartsolution is "Scan to Email." You can set up one "Scan to Email" to send 300DPI PDFs to your real estate agent for documents you signed and give it a custom name such as "PDF docs to agent." Then set up another "Scan to Email" which emails yourself a 150DPI JPG, etc. The user simply puts the document on the glass, then uses the touch screen to touch "smartsolutions", followed by "PDF to agent"or some other customized "Scan to Email" smartsolution.
An Evernote (a web-based notetaking app) smartsolution particularly intrigued me, but the Evernote smartsolution is basically a limited version of "Scan to Email" which gives you the Evernote Icon but subtracts the ability to have a subject or message. So I just set up a different "Scan to Email" to get things into Evernote and used a subject line with PDF scan @scans to direct the scanned file, called "PDF scan," to go to an Evernote folder called "scans."
Another good smartsolution is "Scan To PDF" which does OCR and saves the file into a specified folder on the computer with the OCR software. This results in a PDF file whose text is searchable and can be copied/pasted. It would be nice if there were similar smartsolutions that allowed scanning to TXT, RTF, and XLS files but that is not the case as of the time of this writing (4/2/10). I would also like to see a smartsolution that allows emailing TXT, RTF, searchable PDF, or XLS files with the touch of one button. Yet another nice feature would be to allow naming the subject of an email from the printer instead of automatically having the same subject name each time.
Overall, I think the smartsolutions idea is great, and is off to a nice start. So long as you have one person in a small office or family who doesn't mind going through all the setup hassles, any printer which supports smartsolutions can be set up to simplify certain complicated, multi-step functions. This will only improve over time as more smartsolutions are rolled out by Lexmark, and possibly outside developers.
Maintenance/Reliablity - My unit has been fully functioning since 3/20/10, so I can't speak to long term reliability. However, from the setup hassles I experienced (see below), it is clear that the printhead and cartridge mechanism is a point of potential failure. All the parts involved are delicate, tricky to install/uninstall, and require cleaning if dirty. Sometimes manually cleaning of the printhead and its insertion point are necessary, while other times a "clean printhead" must be performed by the printer, which depletes ink (the deep clean depletes about 1/8 of each cartridge). Lexmark has a 5 year warranty on the Pro805 so if the printhead experiences problems, they will replace it for free - but I would much prefer not having problems to begin with. I'll update this section in the future after at least a few months of use.
In 2 weeks of use (80-100 pages?), there has been no paper jam or skipped pages, and this includes testing the automatic document feeder and duplex printing. Paper handling has been perfect so far.
Setup: It took over 5 hours to completely setup this printer, and it is complicated by many factors. Configuration settings are spread out between the printer, computer, and smartsolutions website, and sometimes one change involves making a change in two or more of these locations. Here's the detailed breakdown:
1 hour: Minimum required setup for 2 computers (1 Mac, 1 Windows XP). Installing from the CD or the web site is easy enough (though, to be safe, I obtained the Mac driver from Lexmark's web site, bypassing the CD altogether). I installed XP first as I figured Windows XP would be most likely to have a smooth installation. While the software ran smoothly, there were many printer setup steps. Had I not got hung up with a manufacturing defect, it would have taken approximately 1 hour to set up the two computers, including Printer's WiFi, excluding email. Note that setting up computers after the first one is a simple driver installation - only the first is lengthy because the software directs you to set up the printer as well.
3-30 minutes: Email setup. Before you can Email, you need to configure the Pro805 with an ISP. After 20 minutes of trying a bunch of combinations and Googling for help, I gave up trying to get Gmail...Read more›

Panasonic Dect 6.0 Black Metallic Cordless Phone with Answering Machine (KX-TG6444T)
Average Reviews:

I bought this phone for one reason and one reason only: call blocking. I was excited when I found Panasonic offered a phone with this feature as our previous Panasonic phone worked quite well (but no call blocking feature). This phone absolutely has call blocking. What Panasonic doesn't tell you upfront is that the phone will ring once before being blocked. That significant detail is buried in the specifics of the manual. Not so bad you might think? Not so. The blocking feature sends a busy signal back to the automated dialing system. The automated dialing system doing the calling instantly thinks "Ah-hah, someone home". It promptly schedules another call in 5 minutes. And so on every 5 minutes for about 40 minutes before finally giving up! I can't believe Panasonic is unaware of this. And if, as my wife noted, the phone needs time to process the caller ID information, I'd far rather it blocked the first ring of every call vs. this.

I use this for my home record keeping. I tend to be fast on data entry - 12,000 kpm - so this is slow on the print mode, but it keeps up with me...eventually. It took me awhile to get used to it clacking away while I was done - this was just the tape printing, I'd have my total in the digital part of the machine. I use it constantly - I have a huge Texas Instruments one at work that cost 5 times what this one cost and it's print speed is not much faster. The key positioning is awesome, I don't even need to look at it while I'm entering numbers. I highly recommend it.

If you spend a considerable amount of time on the phone, as I do, please do not consider purchasing this product. It is annoyingly difficult to dial, as often times the numbers do not register. Then you have to chose which line you'd like to use even though you only have 1 line. Then, it will randomly turn off--not because of the battery mind you--it just shuts off or displays the word searching..... Three minutes in, you are still trying to dial out for a phone call which takes less time. There is a very long list of annoying qualities this phone has so let me leave you with this....This is the MOST UN-USER FRIENDLY phone I have EVER used. I saw some reviews re: sound quality and honestly I dont care how good the sound quality is if I can dial out. This phone is a big enough investment that you should be happy with it and mark my words you will not be!

T61 owners may find their batteries failing very suddenly; mine did after only 50 recharge cycles. Lenovo did a recall (see [...]), but no Lenovo service rep had ever heard of it and, even though the battery lot number (FRU) matched those subject to recall, Lenovo wouldn't do anything for me.
So, an hour wasted on 2 calls with 4 Lenovo reps, it was off to Amazon. This battery fits fine, works as expected, costs 1/3 of the Lenovo alternative. The only problem was with a new ThinkVantage software update that kept reminding me that the battery wasn't a genuine Lenovo product. Just get rid of the ThinkVantage power management application, let Windows handle it, and you'll be fine.

Apple iMac MC511LL/A 27-Inch Desktop Review

Apple iMac MC511LL/A 27-Inch Desktop
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
First things first: the iMac offered on this page has the quad-core Intel Core i5 processor. A configuration with a dual-core i3 processor is also sold by Amazon. A more powerful quad-core processor, the i7, is available as a build-to-order option from the online Apple Store. Be sure you're looking at the configuration you want. Apple makes four 27" Aluminum iMac processor setups in all: an i3, two with the i5, and an i7 (see the Comments on this review for a link to Apple's official tech specs). Now then, on with the show. Many reviewers of the previous release of the 27" Aluminum iMac have already discussed the essential hardware and software features. So, rather than repeating stuff that has already been said, I am going to focus this review on my experience of upgrading from a G4 igloo iMac that was running System 10.5.8 .
Migration Assistant
*I used a Firewire 400 to Firewire 800 cable to move the contents of my old computer to the new machine with Migration Assistant.
*The process was virtually seamless, with only a few minor adjustments necessary to the transferred data. Only four applications required reinstallation: ClamXav, iTunes (due to the Soundflower plugin--in any case, no music was lost or damaged), Microsoft Expression Media 2, and a Juniper Networks remote access program (part of a corporate telecommuting package).
*Rules for Little Snitch, a third party utility, need to be reestablished.
*Customized preferences for Spotlight must be reentered.
Magic Mouse
*iMacs now come with a wireless mouse as standard equipment. The Magic Mouse is a vast improvement over the Apple Mouse (aka Mighty Mouse) because it doesn't have a roller ball that eventually stops working. In fact, there aren't any external moving parts on the Magic Mouse, other than the on/off switch.
*Exposé and Dashboard functions are now on the top row of the keyboard, not on mouse buttons.
*If you're interested in the new Magic Trackpad, you'll have to order it separately. It doesn't come as standard equipment right now.
Keyboard
*The chiclet style keys took me a little while to get used to, but now I prefer them to traditional "long stroke" keys.
*For some reason, Apple has made a compact laptop keyboard the standard iMac keyboard (Steve Jobs must be nostalgic for the original 1984 Mac keyboard). Anybody who relies on Page keys for navigation or on a numeric keypad for data entry is out of luck.
*An extended keyboard with Home/Pg Up/Pg Dn/Delete keys and a number pad is available as a build-to-order option, along with additional memory and other treats, at the online Apple Store.
Audio System
*Optical digital audio input and output requires cables or cable adapters with 3.5mm plugs. Standard size TOSLINK connectors won't work. Also, digital audio I/O is run through the microphone and headphone ports. It is consequently impossible to use headphones or an external mic when the computer is setup for optical digital audio use.
*The speakers are a weak point in the design. They are small, underpowered, and sound tinny. I think the igloo iMacs had much better sound. If I recall correctly, they had a specially tuned amplifier--plus the speakers were fairly large and were not built into the computer housing. Users who use their iMac as their main music source or who work with music and sound will want to buy a separate pair of speakers.
Using the computer: screen, fan noise, heat, Rosetta
*This iMac is all about the gigantic 27" screen. It's incredibly sharp and bright, with better-than-HD resolution. Excel users will love being able to see columns A-AE and rows 1-95 all at once at 100% zoom. No more wasting time scrolling around and splitting windows. Photos, movies, and graphics all look absolutely fabulous.
*I initially thought I would hate the glossy finish on the screen, especially after seeing how much glare demo models at the Apple Store showed. But, as it turns out, the shiny glass isn't distracting at all in my home office. That said, anybody who hasn't ever seen a glossy screen computer in person should go check one out before placing an order.
*Something that I miss from my igloo iMac is the ability to move the screen both from left to right (x-axis) and up and down (y-axis). Aluminum iMac screens can only be swiveled up and down, in a fairly limited range.
*Under most conditions, the computer runs very quietly. Fan noise is normally inaudible.
*The top of the computer can become noticeably hot to the touch. Not hot enough to cook the proverbial egg, but definitely warmer than most other electronic devices (except for the original PlayStation3, otherwise known as the Sony Spaceheater).
*PowerPC applications run well under Rosetta. Once it is downloaded automatically, upon demand, it runs invisibly.Bottom line: it's the screen, the SCREEN, THE SCREEN!! Massive amounts of screen real estate, combined with fast performance, make the 27" Aluminum iMac a true joy to use for both work and play. One star penalty for not making an extended keyboard standard and for the terrible built-in sound system.

General Electric DECT6.0 Expandable Amplified Cordless Phone with Answering Machine, 29115AE1 Review

General Electric DECT6.0 Expandable Amplified Cordless Phone with Answering Machine, 29115AE1
Average Reviews:

The phone handset works well and is high quality. The buttons are backlit, the LCD display has large characters, and both are backlit in a bright orange color. The handset has a NORMAL/AMPLIFIED button on the side, which allows for one-click change from normal to impaired hearing operation. It also has separate UP and DOWN arrow buttons on the face to adjust the volume in about 7 steps. The phone earpiece cup is really large so it fits over the ear well. However, out of 20 possible ringtones, only one or two are OK, the others sound like a circus calliope - really annoying sounds.
The phone handset itself sits in the answering machine base where it is recharged. The base unit is very cheap, light plastic, and is so light that when the phone rests in it, it is top-heavy - really bad engineering. When the answering machine did work, it was loud and easy to use. However after only 2 weeks, it stopped working, with a "F" status on the display, which the manual says means "Memory is Full". Unable to clear the messages, I contacted Thompson/GE for help. Their canned email response told me to call an 800 number. A Tech Support person walked me through a minimal procedure to disconnect the power and batteries, wait 10 minutes and then if that didn't fix the problem, to send the phone/answering machine back... Not good!
The phone handset is a keeper, however the answering machine/base a BIG loser. Overall, considering the high $$$ cost, I would look around for a better amplified phone.

Casio Phonemate TA140 Digital Answering Machine Review

Casio Phonemate TA140 Digital Answering Machine

I bought this answering maching without researching other models. I suppose in a way, I lucked out! I needed an answering machine, and this one does everything fairly well. The recordings of my greetings are relatively clear. The machine is very easy to use. I like the fact that it is digital and I don't have to mess with cassette tapes. It keeps the time and the date, and stamps it to every message. Another good feature is that it has a large caller id screen, which of course helps in screening calls!
I thought the price was very reasonable. Overall I am very satisfied with this product.

I had been considering the Vtech LS6125-3 but decided to delay as I believed an updated model would soon come to market. Well, this is it...the LS6225-3. I ordered it as soon as it became available on Amazon and I still had to wait more than a month for the order to fill, as Vtech had not yet begun shipping the product. Finally received it last week and this new model is well worth the wait.
Very clean minimalist appearance with a feature-rich menu that I found to be intuitive. I did not need to refer to the owner's manual to set it up. The sound is crystal-clear with a very strong interference-free signal. I especially like the fact that the base unit antenna and the handset antennae are completely internal...not even a stub. The base unit uses touch pad technology - no buttons. Any handset can access messages from the answering machine...no more requirement to access them from the base unit. Intercom, conference call and call transfer functions are simple and straightforward. Handset backlighting is good with all keys easily readable.
We are very satisfied with this unit and the only reason I gave it 4 stars rather than 5 is because as advanced as it is, the base unit has no battery back-up in the event of a power failure. Once the power returns, one must reenter the date/time. It's not difficult and all other memory settings remain intact, but it simply should not be necessary. Aside from that little nit, I recommend this new model unit without reservation.
